Since launching her career with A Bog In My Backyard in 2001, Bissell has built a strong portfolio of factual programming characterized by style, heart, and wit. She created the inspiring series Healing with Animals that scored a hat trick at the 2003 Leo Awards, where Bissell picked up awards for “Best Information Series,” “Best Director, Information Series,” and “Best Screenwriter, Information Series.” Currently, Bissell is one of the co-hosts and directors of The Leading Edge: Innovation in B.C.,a documentary series produced by Knowledge Network that took her to Africa in 2004 to do a heartwarming story on community development in rural villages.
